India's Kumaon Himalaya, formerly a part of the Kingdom of Nepal, is a mountain region which has a long tradition of producing potent charas. Kumaoni charas cultivars are vigorous, hardy plants, typically with a Christmas tree growth pattern and very long medium width leaflets. This Kumaoni line is from an area in the deep mountains around Nanda Devi known locally for its knockout twisted charas sticks. Standing plants have very resinous calyxes with a floral aroma, and with other strong scents like carrot, lime, and mango. Traditional charas twists from the Kumaon region have a very distinctive high with a lovely potent buzz in body and mind. Good Kumaoni charas is famous for its warm, euphoric positivity and excellent duration.
